Artist biography- about the artist Amanda Robbins.

Amanda was born and raised in South Florida. She lives there to this day and is highly influenced by its bright, colorful atmosphere. She started drawing at the age of 2 and never stopped. At the age of 6 her teacher told her that people actually "grow up" to be artists and the idea stuck with her. Since then she has devoted her life to learning about and creating art, illustration, and design. She has a Bachelors of Fine Art degree and over 15 years of formal education in fine art. When she is not at work or school she paints fairies and geishas and magical creatures.

Some of Amanda's influences include Ukiyoe prints, the Art Nouveau movement, gothic children's book illustrations, and Japanese Pop Art. She likes to work with bright colors and each of her paintings conveys an untold story or attempts to invoke emotion in its viewer. Amanda plans to continue painting for the rest of her life.
